Up Close & Political: The Housing Crisis!

California Properties

It’s 2020. Was your New Year’s resolution to get out more? Or to make a difference in your community?

If so, come to our next comedy show on the housing crisis!

If not, come to our show and do push-ups or order a salad or whatever. We’re not the boss of you.

California’s housing crisis is causing huge problems: exorbitant rents, homeless encampments, my landlord not refunding my deposit even after the apartment was spotless.

It’s also one where local voices and voters have an outsized impact. What should we do about it?

Join the discussion with some amazing experts:

  • Rev. Andy Bales, the CEO of Union Rescue Mission, who lost his leg serving on Skid Row and is a central figure in the fight against homelessness in LA.
  • Liz Falletta, USC professor, principal of Falletta Development and member of Los Angeles’s Zoning Advisory Committee.
  • Michael Manville, UCLA Professor of Urban Planning focused on the relationship between transportation and land use.

And comedians:

  • Madison Shepard, a comedian seen on Comedy Central, FOX and Amazon – and a former apartment manager.
  • Toby Muresianu of Comedy Central’s Roast Battle.

We’d love to see you there! It’s 7:30-9pm on Tuesday, January 7th at the Hollywood Improv Comedy Club, 8162 Melrose Ave, Hollywood, CA 90046
